Cullen Lakes Association

The day was very hot and humid, but again, no rain. However, the frosting on the donuts melted! Twelve loyal CLA members gave an hour of their time (and sweat) on Saturday of Labor Day weekend to help clean up our assigned section along Highway 371. Dan Hurley - your absence was noticed and it was UNEXCUSED! Many thanks to the following who did show up: Jim MacGibbon, John MacGibbon, Stu MacGibbon, Dan Meixner, Jack and Barb McNamara and their grandchildren Tyler and Tommy Gruye, Jim Burnell, Rich Johnson, Jim and Anne Kostreba. A special welcome to Paula Bengston from Upper Cullen who joined us for the first time. Her parents have been on Upper for many, many years. One of the most interesting things about these lake gatherings is getting to know our fellow lake dwellers and sharing stories about our families and their history on the lakes.

Hope to see many more of our members next Memorial Day weekend for our Spring trash collection.

Cleaning Up Our Roads

  • The Annual Spring and Fall roadside trash pickup will be postponed for all of 2016 due to the Hwy 371 road construction project.

  • The Annual Spring roadside pickup will be Sat. May 28, 2016 and will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Wilderness Ridge Road just off Highway 371. Bags, gloves and reflective vests will be provided. Refreshments will be served also.  Wilderness Ridge Road is across Hwy. 371 from the north end of  Lake Edna and just south of the Edna lake public access road about 1/4 mile. There is a gravel area with ample off street parking available.
  • The Annual Fall Hwy. 371 trash pickup was completed on Sat. morning, Sept. 5, 2015.

  • If you are interested in joining us this year or any year for this CLA service project, we would enthusiastically welcome your support.

  • Please contact us if you wish to be added to the CLA HIGHWAY PICKUP PATROL LIST and we will contact you personally once our dates are set. Memorial Day weekend Saturday & Labor Day weekend Saturday are most likely to be set for the pickup.
