August 23 from Ann Beaver
These are the eclipse shadows on Wilderness Ridge Road as I walked the dog during Monday's solar eclipse.  Fascinating patterns repeated all along our walk.

March 29 from Ann Beaver
The eagles have been around for most of March. This evening, two hooded merganser couples stopped by in the 20 feet of open water off our north shoreline of Lower Cullen.  What a treat!.

Middle Cullen wildlife sightings for Spring, Summer and Fall of 2017

April 28 from Dan Meixner
About 100 Pelicans showed up on the northeast end of the lake today. Most of them paraded by numerous times throughout the day, the others flew by in small groups of 2 to 6 landing amid the parade route. The vast majority of them left by Saturday morning, but about 10 visited on and off for a week or so afterwards.

March 31from Dan Meixner
It's been a busy week here in the Upper/Middle channel. In the past week, we have had Common Mergansers, Wood Ducks, and Ringbills join the Mallards and Hooded Mergansers that dropped in on the Swans and Geese who've been here most all of March. Ice on the lakes is melting fast too. Middle is open from west of the public access all the way to Lundborg point now. This weekend should clear much more of it. Upper is opening up around the channel and has very black ice. It should be open very soon!

March 5 from Dan Meixner
Today we had 26 Canada Geese and 10 Swans, on both sides of the bridge, in the channel between Upper and Middle Cullen.
